Should my chicks have access to the coop all day?

They already know how to roost, but I will continue putting them in at night! They are supposed to go to bed at sunset, correct?

Adult chicken go in at dusk on there own, chicks won't. You have to teach them to go in when it gets dark.

Chicks and chickens respond well to predictably. So when you do things for them or teach them everyday they will learn from you. It takes a couple of month for the chicks/chickens to process it in there mind.

And leave there coop door open during the day.

They need to go in at sunset, or else it'll get too dark for them to see the roost to be able to get on it.
