My broody is in with the rest of my hens
and has hatched 4 so far, of my cochins the last time I left her to
do her thing the other hens walked all the babies and killed 3 so I took away the rest from Mama and brought them into the house. and she climbed so much on the ramp that her feet got bloody..
.Now I have an extra pen should I take her and her babies out in to it. or just leave her to care for them I dont want to stress her ..
as some one said let mama do it.
I have her blocked off the the big coop but if the babies jump
over the guard rail after they have grown a little more
would they be able to fend for themselvs.I have chx starter and water in their corner. any ideas?

I think if your gonna take them away from mamma you should do it right away. She is now determined to take care of her babies. I would let her raise them but build a divider that the chicks can get thru but the big chickens can't. This will give them a place to escape if the others try to harm them. Good Luck

Well Broody hen is taking care of her chx,
I have them in one corner and the others seem to know enough to stay away.Ihope it works out, I dont want to lose them.as the other pens are full and I dont want any more chx in the house ..
had too much fun the last time with 27 in the bathroom Dh said
No more ..... LoL
