Hello

Thanks to the great advise and help of poeple here at BackYardChickens there are 2 chicks pipping and one out of its shell at my house after trying about 4 times before and getting nothing. I am not at my house this weekend unfortunatly I couldn't get back for the hatch but i'm assured they are in good hands with my parents. We, however, were wondering if the hatched chicks shell should now be removed from the bator or should she keep it? Or should we remove it after she has dried off and has gone into the hamster cage (a nice big one with no hamsters in it!)?

Thank you for any advice

Lois xx

I'd wait until the chicks were dried off and ready for their new brooder. It won't hurt for the shells to be in the incubator with them while they dry off.
