Should these ladies be laying?

She said these girls are the same age as the roosters she gave me.. i am curious if anyone could tell me how old you think they are... Based on just research I am guessing 16-18 weeks...

I already too him back. He was crowing so loud. When i met up with her she was adamant it was a hen. I spent hours upon hours researching the differences betweens hens and roosters, cockerels and pullets and I feel like it was so obvious this chicken was a male. She got really rude with me and said its a hen again and again. She gave me my money back and said she would.never do business with me again!

Wow! I would tell her that he was crowing so your pretty sure its NOT! There are oddball hens that crow but they are the exception!

I would NEVER do business with her again! If you don't know the difference between hens and males that is fine, but don't sell them as hens if you don't know!

So difficult to age a hen by a photo. Hopefully they are pullets near the point of lay and not aged hens near the end of their laying cycle. Don't get me wrong. Ain't nothing wrong with old gals but if you paid for pullets you should get pullets. However, your recent transactions make you wonder about the integrity of the seller.

They won't let me close enough to pet them yet. I can get about a foot away and then they freak out and run off.

Try some mealworms in your hand...just sit quietly and hold your hand out..don't move around...out of curiosity they'll come up, and then...wham!! They'll go nuts for them!
