I also have my 2 1/2 week old chicks in the big coop with a heat lamp over them and one of the oil filled heaters on. it got below freezing last night and they did just fine. they are in a small chik-n-hutch with a wire floor, no bedding but a warm light and the heater and I put a heavy blanket over one end of the small hutch that is in the big coop, but they did just fine.
