Should you always hear chripping before they hatch??

Well at this point I have three hatched! 10 to go - 4 pipped out of the ten and one rocking back & forth. A couple had a small pip earlt this morning and haven't hatched - I hope they are okay.

I agree that waiting is so hard - it would have been better if I had worked today.......or not ...I am having fun watching my babies hatch.

My husband said "you're sending them to the feed store right?" - I told him nope! They're my babies! Poor guy doesn't stand a chance with me & all my animals!

Still need someone to tell me how to attach pictures to my post. Thank you!

I have 4 pipped and one crack, then we finally have one out! I am glad I did not work today, although, I am anxious and the chick that has hatched is probably tired of seeing a giant face in the window. This is our first hatch too, and seeing new life is so exciting.

I am not sure my hubby really agrees either, since he has never been really excited about the chickens. I told him I wanted them last year, and one day I told him I was going to call feed stores and see what they had. He told me to grab something to eat if I went out and then wake him so he could eat (he's a day sleeper). I woke him about 2pm to tell him his food was in there and he said you went out???? I told him yep, and we have some baby cochins. He paused.....are those chickens? I nodded and he said you mean you actually....bought chickens? Real.........live.........chickens?

In order to post you have to go to the tab at the top that says upload, then upload your image and then copy and paster the image scripting that is in the box on the page you are posting the picture on.

Funny - my husband never knew what he was getting into when he married a country girl raised on a cattle ranch - he's a beach boy! But he enjoys the beef I raise and the eggs ( funny but I could never butcher one of my chickens!). Complains about all the horses, goats and so on.....but he loves me ( god only knows why) and after 25 years he's still here! They just don't understand us - but he started calling me "mother hen" today!

I have another chick zipping right now.

Congrats on yours! attach pictures - I'll try to.

I must be lame - I uploaded the picture buthow do I get it in this post? I am usually not so slow!

You copy and paste that stream of stuff just like it is in the box for image. They have a thread about it on the faq section.

Haha, my husband is very preppy, and I am country.

What state do you live in?

I gotta laugh at you two. MY husband is the most patient man in the world, God Bless him. He worked nights for a year and a half - one morning he came home, went to sleep, woke up to find a cow in the back yard. I love this man.

And we are opposite- dh was raised in the south on farms, I was raised in Baltimore City. He moved me here and I have lost my mind. LOL- I LOVE COUNTRY LIVING!!!!!- Poor man, never knows what he will wake up to next.

Well I guess it is true that oppisites attract! I love that he woke up to cow!! My husband works nights too - the key is to tell them things when they hlf asleep then you can "I already told you about that!"

I am up to 7 chicks! It is a good day.

Oh someone asked what state I am in - California - San Diego County

We are up to 3, lol. This year my husband said he wanted turkeys, I told him only if I can have some ducks. I have also bought him some boots. His mom asked me one day (husband was wearing boots and slacks) what had I done to her son..... I simply replied I bought him some boots, told how I like men to have some facial hair, he did the rest. I do not force him to wear the boots, or force him to shave or not to shave, but next I am buying him a nice black hat.
