Shouldn't feed dog/cat food to chickens

Our chickens use to clean up the dry dog food the dogs left. It was nice not to have a mess around the kennel.

Oh course they started chasing cars, barking at the moon and one even bit the mailman.

I really have nothing of value to add to this conversation....I'll go away.

I agree that there's no evidence of a prion disease in poultry, which is a good thing. I also am happy to NOT feed chicken to chickens, or any animal to itself. It makes me very uncomfortable, in large part because of this history of horrible prion diseases, that weren't obvious to anyone for a long time.
Even incredibly cheap dog or cat foods are more expensive that chicken feed, so there's no advantage in feeding them. Good food pays off, but I don't think that means pet food.

You'll also find that a lot of dog/cat foods have chicken in them anyway, as a cheap protein filler, with just enough lamb or beef to act as a flavour.
