Hi everyone. I just wanted to thank and call out Wyorp Rock for all her help on this thread. For me personally, the best advice I’ve gotten from her is providing buttermilk through molt. I have done that for my birds this year and it seems to have helped. One of my girls last year develop neurological problems during molt and I ended up having to tube feed her. I’m really trying not to do that this year, and the buttermilk mash has been part of that plan. Thank you!

Great idea! She is always on hand with excellent advice for a huge range of problems that various members post about, and I am delighted to record my appreciation for her presence on BYC :hugs:clap:thumbsup

@micstrachan, can you post a link to the thread with the info on buttermilk during molt? I have a couple of rough looking birds.

And, yup, Wyorp Rock is a wonderful BYC member!
I think it might have been a private chat, but I would bet she’s posted it multiple times. She taught me to make a mash with water and crumble or pellets and then mix some buttermilk into it. At least, that’s how I do it, based on how I thought she does.
