Anyone put their show birds on any particular diet?

I just started wondering today if anyone feeds those "special" individuals, show quality birds, anything special or different. If you don't want to give up your "special secret show weapon" just say 'yes' or nothing at all. LOL

I don't show birds, but I think some increase protein for better feather growth.

I may increase the sunflower content of the diet some what with some birds. But the real trick is in the housing and prep of the bird before showing.

If your birds are getting a premium diet in the first place there is little need for heavy supplimentation for show birds.

I get my birds on a higher protein diet, I usually mix 1 bag of layer crumbles with 1 bag of game bird crumbles and mix in some bird seed and oatmeal, and in the winter, I also add scratch. I sometimes also feed them wet cat food for the extra protein.
