Show me all your ducks!!

The easiest and earliest way to tell a duck's sex is by the quack it makes. After the 'squeeking' stage'Ducks will begin to get their adult voices-Hens quack LOUDLY while Drakes are MUCH quieter with their low vocalizations. If your duck is LOUD - it's a GIRL! Your's look too young to have developed a 'DRAKE-FEATHER' a tail feather (or two) that curls upward - a SURE sign that he's a boy.

How dare you take away its treats!!!!!

Really cute though! Speaking of getting mad at mom, I have two ducklings I keep upstairs in my bedroom in a rubbermaid box ( for now ). Well I give them two baths a day now that they are bigger. One in the morning and one before I go to bed. I try to keep a time frame, but I was thirty minute late on the evening bath so they were both calling me from upstairs. I was about to come and get them and suddenly tilly's "peeps" were shreeks. So I turned on the stair light and there was tilly on the stairs hopping down from the top. She had gotten out of the tub ( wich I still dont know how she did ) went through my room, and then hopped down the stairs SCREAMING!!!! A nd to top it off, she didn't even take her sister along! She ( willow ) was also peeping upstairs in her tub. The funny thing is, is that tilly is shorter in all ways compared to willow. Houdini's I guess. But fortunetly they are moving to a more suitible home because I guess the've outgrown the tub. I got some pictures of tilly and willow when she finally got their bath!

Shes an ancona and the black one is a cayuga. the ancona will be white with black ( I presume )

Are you sure that you've got the breeds right? While looking through your pictures I had them pegged as Pekin and Khaki Campbell ducklings. Cayuga ducklings are generally darker (I just raised one myself) and less brown and more black. Ancona ducklings are usually speckled black and yellow, and I only see yellow.

Here are a few of mine. Have no clue what they are as they were in a mixed bin at TSC. The sign said Blue Suede ducks, but I have never heard of that and some were the grey/yellow, some black/yellow. The feet of the blacks have changed from black with spots to mainly flesh colored and black on the legs. Any ideas on what they are?

The TSC ducklings - they look to be Swedish. I know the black and yellow one is, the others look to light to be khaki campbell. I know that the TSC here only carry mallards, pekins, swedish, and khaki campbell. I can't remember if they carry rouens or not. At least that's what they carried a couple of years ago. I got some from them, but gave them to my sister in south Texas. I think that's half of the fun with mixed ducklings is watching the feather out and taking a guess at what they are

DuckGirl - That's too funny about lil Tilly!! She was ready for her bath! She was tired of waiting for her momma!

I agree with TruBluCG, they look to be Swedish. The lighter colored ones are Blue Swedish and the black and yellow ones are Black Swedish. Not 100% on the lighter-colored ducklings, but I'm fairly confident. Hope this helps!
