I am trying to figure out what color my Silkie hen is, and the closest I can come up with is Buff Isabel, a buff/ lavender combo. I have basic high school AP understanding of genetics, but my eyes glaze over when I read "allelespeak". I'm interested in finding out what color Phyllis is and if she is a decent example of her color. I also want to see pictures of everyone's buff isabel, because I think it's very interesting. Thanks!
She has a sort of barring on her wings, saddle, and hackles. Individual feathers look like rusty waterstains. Big orange speckles on her chest. Her crest and feet are very smoky, like blue or grey (someone called it pewter), but I don't know if it would be called lavender. She does have some greyness in her wings, too. I'll try to get some good closeups, but she's brooding an infertile egg and a golf ball right now
, and I don't want to disturb her much; it's gonna take a lot of focus to hatch those things!
