Show me how you keep rain out

  If you have a wind problem you are going to have to to close the windows. I have 3 windows that are open and covered only with HC. I have a wooden shutter I close at night but I've not had rain come mine at all. On two sided I do have a least a foot overhang, but on the third it's on the eve side and open to the weather. So far so good. Two weeks is a long time not to clean out the coop. I would hate to be one of your chickens.

We use deep litter so other than changing out the nest box litter every week or so, we only do the main bedding every few months. We add some clean bedding to it every couple of weeks depending on the amt of yuck in it. Do you really clean the coop out that often? :/

Thanks for all the suggestions! We don't have the space for a 2nd run. We do have a tarp covering over the run on the south side. So we're mainly worried about all 3 of the other sides. I'll ask dh about rain from the east. I guess I've never really noticed what side it comes from. There are grain bins on the east side but I don't know if they cover well enough to protect from rain. If we had neighbors we could have them come over and close the windows (only 2 have to be closed from inside the coop and one of those is the south window) but we don't.
