show me those Faverolles! want to see other colors too!

EweSheep, those are stunning Favs! I love the lacing on the first gal. I have seen that beautiful lacing on pics of birds in France, but not so much in the States. Very nice!

And here are the Large Fowl Salmon Faverolles (some of the pics aren't the greatest as they were in a molt):

that roo looks like the pics i saw of my Chloe and Charlie's dad. their dad's name was Woody. unfortunately i found out that their moms were eaten by something that got into the pen, but Woody survived.

now that i notice where you are located at, i think i got the eggs from around your area.

anyone know of any good hatcheries that would be able to ship day old bantam favs? i've only seen the standards sold at most of them.

or any of the other colors like the blues or lavender? i've heard that there are those 2 colors too but i wasn't sure if there are any pics of those in anyone's flock.

There are NO hatchery that sells bantam Faverolles. Sorry!

I had Blue Faverolles LF and was NOT pleased with them. Missing the fifth toes, and no beards was the worse. And the breeder got rid of them after having alot of complaints on them. We were not forewarned that it was a new creation to expect this to happen but they said it was four generation Favs. Not happy at all! Got rid of all of them.

I am sure there are some out there that are working on them. I know Dick Boulanger works on certain colors but it is fairly new. And you would expected to pay somewhere between 35 to 80 dollars per bird that is expecially good.

thanks! for the email!

i thought i saw that someone was working on lavender favs-not sure if i found it looking for breeders or while on the boards.

i know about the blues and i had purchased some eggs to try and hatch. but i had a 107 degree spike in my incubator half way through and it killed the eggs. i haven't seen any for sale since and i'm going to wait till early spring to find some more.

any one have pics of the whites or blues they may have had at one point or another?

would mixing a white with a blue produce any new and neat color combos?

Howardacres in NH has a bantam blue salmon roo. I don't know if she has pics.

Unfortunately dominant white hides everything so a dominant white crossed with blue will give all white. A blue crossed with recessive white will give blue and black. I'm not sure which white a solid white fav will have.

Crossing blues to whites, you will get NO blues or splash. It most likely would be all whites with some throwback colors of salmon.

Better off working with blues, splash crossed with blacks would work well.

Do a search for Blue genetics and I am sure there are folks out there that already has it written down.
