Your babies appear to be splash. No problem. Mine looked like that at that age, and feathered out splash. If you breed them to a blue you will get 50/50. Don't worry, they're gorgeous! I have a splash baby hatched yesterday, looks just like that. The only way to get ALL blues is to breed splash BLR to Black BLR.

What does a splash adult look like? I wanted BLRW. I'm soooo sad they are going to be splash. Splash sounds white. Not the best for free ranging..........I can't believe I bought splah when he said they were BLRW...

Here are three of my splash and a blue girl. Bear in mind it is the lacing and fluff that is splash, not the whole bird! Ours free range often with no problems. They are big, calm birds.

these are some of my splash BLR that hatched a few days ago and below that are some adults, all splash.- if you check my page, I have quite a few other photos of BLR.
mine are splash to splash breeding. I also free range in the summer and mine actually get picked off less by the hawks then my solid birds I used to raise.

Although these are the only 2 adults I have at the time, I have one that hatched out the other day from someone else and I have several more dz from other breeders in the 'bators. I have gotten rather attached to the beauty of these birds but hubby has been after me for 2 years to get some. This will be my first year with them. I am looking forward to the work of producing some real beauties like I have seen on this thread.

Splash is one of the colorings of BLRWs.....you got BLRWs. They are like any blue bird. You can get a mix of the different colors depending on what colors the parents are.

If these are splash then I got when I wanted. I guess I didn't know the proper names, and I didn't know there were so many variations of the same color. I will be soooooo happy if mine end up looking like this. When I heard splash I was thinking like the cochin form of splash.
It's so funny that you should respond to my post because it was your ad for BLRW eggs and the picture in the ad that made me want BLRW. I happend to find some day olds in the Farmers Market Bulletin and snapped them up because of you. Now that I've gone back and looked at your ad you do say they are splash.
Thanks!!!

So they will still be considered BLRW, that's great!
