Are you in there, Pecky? I finally figured out why we weren't getting as many eggs one year...my best layer hoarded 15 eggs under the tomato plants in my garden (she figured out how to sneak over the fence when I wasn't around).

I tried to snap a better picture, and she decided to get up, turn her back to me, and check her eggs.

I eventually got one picture where you could see her better. Look at those eyes--she's in the momma zone. Unfortunately we didn't have a rooster at the time, so none of her eggs were fertile.
