Hi everybody, happy weekend! I’d like to introduce our button quail. The tuxedo colored one is Bubbles, our roo, and the brown hen is Sophia. I would love to see pictures of other people’s birds. Not just quail - chickens, pheasants, waterfowl, etc.

How big are the ostrich chicks when they hatch?

The barn mix rooster is Silber, I’ve got an older picture of some hens, Star, who is the Plymouth Barred Rock, is one of the oldest at a year and a half ish, and she likes to sneak in when I’m not looking and lay eggs on my pillow……………
The Orpington is Goldie, and she is one of the youngest birds. Her and her sister Bear are some of of the friendliest birds I have, no doubt a trait of the breed, as the two Leghorns who are the same age refuse to be within 5 feet of a human.
(I know bear is a bit of a masculine name, thought bear was a roo, but it turns out she’s just fat)

In other words, much larger than an adult quail! Adult jumbo coturnix might weigh a pound.
I have some Butler Bobwhites that weigh 28oz. 4oz. shy of 2lbs. :D
