Show me your chicken toys!!

So sad to find out that none of your chickens use the swing! I was so looking forward to seeing my chickens on a swing:lau

I'll look into a jungle gym/ play station :p I was already going to put up different kinds of perches, a permanent dust bathing area, different food toys that I would swap out to keep things interesting, a log or flowerpot or something to let bugs hide under before I set the little raptors on them  and maybe some things like mirrors or birdtoys.

They are gonna be SUCH spoiled chickens 😅

I've only gotten chicks to use it. Past that point, none of them are interested.

Rest of your "toys" sound great, I'm sure your flock will enjoy it!

I don't think chickens like them.

They may like to perch on them.

Appeal to a chicken's natural instincts to scratch, perch and dust bathe.
I scour the curbs on garbage day looking for old wood stools or chairs people are discarding and take them.
You can get free pallets from the big box stores and lean them against the run walls.
You can get stumps of varying girth and height and make arrangements for the birds to perch on. I also spread food out on them at breakfast and the flock likes to spread out and eat at these different locations.
Install branches for perching.
Use a run litter that they can scratch through, dig holes in and bathe in.

Btw I just have to say that a whole lot of my coop design comes from YOUR coop! I probably looked at your coop pictures a hundred times. It's one of my absolute favourites!

That box in the back with the hay(?) in it, what's that for?
Uh, it was advertised like some sort of spot for stuff for them to dig around in (I guess if you don't have litter in the run), but it just sat there collecting water when the chickens weren't busy throwing out all the grass I put into it. I ended up taking out that tray/box and it's somewhere behind my garage now.

LOL

I'm building my very first coop and run and am looking for inspiration to decorate my run!
I've seen some really fun things like chicken swings and a chicknick table as well as different kinds of holders for snacks, but I am hungry for more!!

So if you have any cool toys or decorations that you're really proud of, please show it off here! :D
We took the handle bars and seat off an old bike and stuck them in the ground of their run. They love perching on them. We also made a swing out of a 2x4 that several of them enjoy. We also took a bike tire and stuck it on its side and they like to peck around the spokes and will perch on it and spin it a little bit. We also have an appointment old tire and made a dust bathe for them.

I had a swing for my chicks and they loved it very much I mean LOVED it they got bigger so I had to make then my new one then I combined the chicks and that’s when I made the bigger one and they all love their big swing they go on top of it they dive under it some fall sleep on it and one time on the smaller swings I saw all three of my baby chicks trying to crowd on top of it and fall sleep

I would recommend it it just takes a little while for them to get used to jumping on it.

there is two of them on it before they were connected with the little ones you can actually see one of the little ones in this photo
