Show me your dogs!

There are actually a LOT responsible bully owners out there. It’s the irresponsible people that hurt those of who are. These bullies would sooner lick you to death than ever hurt you. Neither has ever started a fight with another dog.

At one time we dual registered a golden retriever both AKC and UKC for competition in obedience trials. Pits are a recognized breed by the UKC. UKC shows/competitions were both conformation and obedience with two competitions of each type daily. We met a lot of very nice pit bulls. We also saw some dogs disqualified for as little as growling in the show ring.

Here is my little guy...he's a 3-legged rescue I brought home 6 years ago. He loves his chicken sisters and spends a lot of time in the yard with them. He is amazing with them and I'm so blessed for that. He lets them sleep on his bed, drink out of his water bowl, etc. He experienced his first snow this year and loves it!
That's so funny..he literally let them have his bed..what a sweety..

He sleeps like this quite a bit..he also crawls under the covers at night and sleeps on his back and umm sometimes he shares my pillow..so he will be under the covers and his head on a pillow..such a dork..

They can be wonderful companions, and very protective. Our dogs listen well and are well socialized, but we’re lucky that I work at home. Not that I’m all that with regard to training, but they are high energy and super smart; if left to entertain themselves they could’ve definitely been trouble.

I don’t know what’s acceptable in competition, is growling ok with the AKC? I can understand the concern over it, what’s really behind the growl?
