Not sure if you can see it, but my girls have a bathtub way in the back.

This is my coop for the ducks. It's next to my house, and has a cinder block wall 3 high around it about 10 x 8 for a pen area. It has cement stepping stones under it to level it (a slight slope forward) and keep it off wet gravel ground, and has air gaps between the walls and the roof for ventilation. I keep straw in it for nesting material and change it ever two-ish weeks. No water or food goes inside. I keep pellets & corn out in the morning and it lasts until its gone but they free range all day, with a open gate that allows them and the chickens but not the dogs to enter, and I keep a bucket of water in the pen too that I change each morning. It has a latch on it the door also, and I lock it each night to keep out the raccoons and cougar. I have old linoleum on the floor also so I can just hose it out every month or so. It's in full sun all day and dries in an afternoon since I don't get the wood drenched. Anyhow, LOVE my ducks...my kids wanted the coop for themselves (picture) but didn't get it =)! It's approximately 3x3 foot print and 4 at the highest roof peak. Anyhow, we made it out of 2x4s and cedar fence boards that we had left over and found some scrap metal roofing at our recycle shop in town. Totally works for two Pekins.

I will consider it Lydia. I have plans next year to possibly do a duck ponic set up beside the pool. I had Koi ponds for years so I have the knowledge of how biological filtration works. I have collected most of the items except for the plumbing and gravel. My Income is so limited that purchase of the gravel is a big thing.
I wish I knew of younger healthier persons that were interested in learning such things. That would enjoy helping me. I have plans to use the garden for educational purposes for children next season. Kids need to know where their food comes from and vegetables are good. I feel the Runners will make the kids enjoy the garden more as well. Who can not smile when watching them fun down the garden row.

I'll pay for gravel and and plumbing supplies, and tell me where you are and I'll make some calls to get you youth groups to come out and help. They will go nuts if you would give a talk and show them how neat this really is! It will be the most fun you've ever had! I did some talks for the youth groups on gardening and they planted my 72 tomato varieties and then they came back to enjoy them to take home and make some recipes with the fresh tomatoes. LOVE the young people and YOU are an amazing person!
