an egg is fine left out on the counter if the temp is an okay degree like if you dont have air conditioner fridge is best. i would say below 80f. and dont wash them if your gonna leave them out cause it makes them porus(sp)

I don't like putting my eggs in the fridge because the shells are porous and they seem to absorb the odours in the fridge (plus my Gran always taught me that eggs need to be brought up to room temp before you cook with them). That said, we only have three chooks so the eggs will be used up fairly quickly and not stored for more than a week.

Even here in Aust and without aircon, my kitchen seldom gets above 30 deg C in summer (around 85 deg F I think).
