I use one of the coops you can buy from TSC.

Thanks for the suggestion! I already have two coops in the yard, I was hoping to just utilize what we have and add to the inside so I don't eat up much space. one of these will be my next go to.

I'm going to be doing something with pallets and random wire to make a place to separate out cull cockerels for growing up to an appropriate size for slaughter.
