Show me your poison ivy/oak tips??

I used the plantain poultice too! But, I agree with those who said - once it reaches your eyes its time to see a doc!

I'm highly allergic to poison ivy - and it looks like you might be too... You need to go to the doctor, and they'll put you on prednisone (sp?) Several summers while I was a kid I was on this and I had to take 7 pills the first day, 6 the second, 5 the third, and so on until they were gone. Sometimes I had to do this twice in a row because I would get it SO bad! Good luck - and definitely see a doctor now that it's in your eye.

If its on your face, RUN don't walk to the doctor. Get yourself a nice cortisone shot, and no more itch. None of the topicals should be used near your eyes, and trust me, it hurts when it gets around your eyes...

I hate poison ivy/oak. It is the only thing I use Round-Up on. It is so hard to kill. My chickens eat it though, so they are keeping in check better than the chemicals.

2-4D will do better job than round-up in killing poison ivy. Straight kerosine will also kill it.

Aquaphor, and lots of it. I am highly allergic, already had it this year so bad my eye swelled shut and I looked like I got beat up.

thanks for all the responses! Wasn't able to get to the Dr yesterday - 4 kids and no sitter doesn't work...

My hubby (he's a 'medical professional') was able to help me out with some prednisone so am starting that today - that's what i'd get from my Dr anyway. I'm hoping for a big improvement.... wish me luck!
