My white crested black is 16 weeks old but his hair poof isn't exactly 'cockerel-like' so I wanted to see other Polish that I could compare him to. He got his wattles at 5 weeks old while our others got theirs weeks after.
Alright, thanks!No probs and some males do have tidy crests. That’s why crest sexing is not a full proof method. As you can see above that 8 week cockerel had a very tidy crest & did trick me but in the end it did get a bit scruffy. Same goes for female polish. I haven’t got a picture but I did have a white pullet with an awfully messy crest which convinced me it was going to be Male but no it was a female.
I don’t have white crested blacks, but I do have polish.
Buff roo baby I rescued from a home owned pet shop, they were all scratched up standing on broken, rusty screen.

From the same place is a mixed color, beautiful girl. I think she is buff polish x silver laced polish.
