I'm intrigued by the home made feeders folks have made from PVC pipe and I wonder if it might be a good solution for 4 chickens in a small backyard coop - to save on space as well as being practical to use. I've seen a few great pictures on this site but I wonder if anyone has instructions for how to make one (I can see the L-shaped design and its pretty straight forward, but might a smaller bottom piece be practical, or instead of cutting a single slot along the length of the bottom piece - might a series of circular holes also work well? Is it hard to saw or drill through PVC? What sizes are most practical?
