Show me your quail pens!!!

Pics
I have pullout draws on my pens, easy problem solved.
Roller trays not needed. I guess it depends on the person.
I don't let myself have too many birds and not enough time, but some prefer the meat and all. Just wondering, how do you not run out of quail? Sorry not trying to sound snappy

We have 10 heifers here, with a bull calf to seperate off each day to feed... 5 show calves to deal with- 50 head of ewes that are 1/3 done lambing.. and they are the hard to raise, show keep.. live in the barn kind. a border collie pup to work with, who knows how many show sheep to picture, cut out, take pictures of and try to sell... not to mention the weiner dog puppies in the house to try and sell- or the chickens and guineas in the chicken house to deal with...

PLus- that doesn't count having to work on a brand new house and farmstead that we have lived in since thanksgiving-- and working 10 hours a day for both of us....

My wanna be incubator sucks- and is a waste of time most every time i plug it in...

i think the quail are pretty cool, coolest little things I have ever had-- however, trading them in on a pair of turkey's that don't require so much care and time consuming actions every day in terms of keeping water and feed in front of them- and eggs picked...

Here is my pen I built two hours ago.. Not the best but works the cardboard is temporary oh ya the young lady I bought them from had another bird that pecked them a bit bald on the backside but they are happy happy happy four girlies one male...

I got my first Quail in February, seven hens & three cocks. They are all now laying dailly!

I really wanted cages that have an egg roll out, but the shipping was prohibitive on any of the pre-made quail cages that I could find or any quality cage wire. Hope to still get them one day.

For now I am using two of four 3'x2' stacking rabbit cages (each divided into two 18'x24' cages) that I picked up used fairly reasonably... not cheaply! LOL They're working fairly well.

I really love the fact that I have 5 more empty cages ready & an incubator ready to roll! (It's a roll-x. Hehe!) Right now my fear is with our low temps & how quickly the eggs chill that they may get too cold for hatching before I can gather them.

My biggest difficulty right now is with the watering situation. Currently they all have small crocks which I have to fill several times a day. But with the below freezing temps not sure what else will work.

How do others water their quail in below freezing temps? I'll need to have a better plan for next winter.

Here is one of two cage stacks I recently purchased for my quail...

Had to explain to DH that I wasn't decorating their cage, with the old silk flowers that I'd been planning to throw out, but providing them with cover!

Here is mine! Made it myself. The coop is detachable so I can bring them inside on cold nights. I have 6 coturnix right now. I added a sand bath, the run is 4x4x4.
