Show me your rabbit cages & I'll show you mine!

I would only get the cage part they sell, not the pan, legs, extras or kit to stack them. I need a cage for each bun.

I use a large dog crate for my rabbit.I had her in a regular cage, but my hen is in it.I like the grid one.My rabbit chews through everything,so the grid and/zips would disappear.

Here is the rabbit cage with the hen. I got this and another large cage free with guinea pigs off craigs, but years later gave the double cage away with 2 new piggers.Big cage would have been far better for the rabbit.

Well, I did something a little different when my son wanted 4-H rabbits. I am severly allergic to rabbits, so they had to be outside. We got a mama and 3 babies, and since we didn't have a rabbit hutch or cage outside, we used a dog kennel. I'm talking a 4' x 8' chainlink kennel. It was just on dirt, but those bunnies had a wonderful time making burrows and were never unhappy. I guess we were lucky they didn't just burrow their way out and take off, but maybe they felt safe and because they had plenty of space, food and water----plus a doghouse stuffed with straw----they just didn't want to leave. We eventually did have to sell them, as I ended up being the primary caretaker, and would end my afternoon of chores having an asthma attack.

I built my own cages. I had two "girl" bunnies, so had planned on making the top level only halfway.....with a big hammock on the open side and a ramp going down. It would be a big bunny mansion.

And then one of my "girls" grew testicles. Alrighty then. So I had to split the cage into two levels.

Each bunny has a 24"x48" space. Each cage is 18" tall. I covered the floor in linoleum squares and they have cat litterboxes and ceramic dishes. The hammock was moved to the bottom level as the rex has no interested in it. The lionhead mix loves it.

It still needs "bumpers" along the bottom 4-6" of each level to keep stuff from getting kicked out. That will get done someday......

I think it cost about $50 to $60 to make.

My BIL built this 3 compartment super cage on wheels, with mister system, for easy collection of free fertilizer and sanitation. Keeps a 5 gal bucket under the drain end and occasionally hoses out the tray. Built out of scrap wood and wire mesh and odds and ends.

Well, I went to Lowes and picked up a few things, cost me a total of $90 for the cage and plastic roll for pee/poo ramp, $25 for the water bottles[need 2 more], bowls and 2 metal pans to catch poo/pee.

I will get pics tomorrow. I got most of one done. Bottom, back, sides and top are done. Need to make the front w/doors. I still am not sure if I should go 3 pens or 2. It's 6ft long, 18in tall. A total of either 4 or 6 holes.

I am starting a tiny rabbitry of Lionheads & Lionlops. I'm thinking if I should drop the white doe and/or the black Lop doe. Ideas?
Pic of the bunnies! Making a new website for my chickens and rabbits. The 2nd bunny, gray & white, is a buck.

No, I bought it all brand new. It didn't take much.

Needed 18' of rabbit wire. Approx $15.
2 sets of hinges. Approx $4.
2 safety hookes. Approx $1.
15 2x2. Approx $23
Half sheet of plywood: $6.
Linoleum squares: $8

Not sure if I actually used 15 of the 2x2. They are really cheap so it may have been a few less.
