OK I just googled The Galley Sink. The Best 7 Feet You're Kitchen Will Ever Have.

So, is it working? There were a few clumsy details there. I love the trough design, but it seems too slim from front to back to be washing roaster pans in. And the plumbing sticking up front and center seemed so wide it could be in the way of food prep/placement behind the trough. But the trough thing, that's a great idea. I wonder if somebody's making that in a one piece porcelain, like the apron sinks? So no seems to get gooky over time, and no pointy edges at the corners?

Oh I'm jealous now. This is fun.

I have no idea why this pic was taken of my current countertop. I don't have any pictures of my whole kitchen right now. Please excuse the mess -- I was preparing dinner. It gives you a close up of the quartz.

FYI - the bigger and more colorful the quarz pieces, the more expensive it gets. Mine was pretty reasonable because I was happy with this one -- it was middle of the road.

These are pics from my old house after we did a mini remodel of the kitchen. Where the table is in the pic there was a countertop and the table had to sit in the middle of the kitchen. We redid the countertops with Swanstone, took out the countertops/ floor cabinets where the table is sitting, my hubby stained and then added the oak wainscotting (sp?), and we added the island. We were able to keep the linoleum.

It was a smaller kitchen, but I loved it. Especially, once we did our little remodel. I love my house now, but seeing these pics makes me a little sad -- we loved our first little house.

We just went to the meeting today where they showed us the plans for the kitchen. Did you watch the video on it? It is plenty wide. I think it just looks narrow because it's so long! I think we decided to do ours in a copper apron front in a granite island. We've got the plans and are figuring out colors and details and where we can cut costs.

But what's the benefit of copper in the apron? Must know. Is it chemistry, besides fabulous good looks

?

I still wonder if such a thing comes in one piece porcelain or cement, with round edges and no seams?
