those are all very nice runs. i was wanting to know if a 10x16 coop & a 30x32 run is big enough for 33 chickens . they have 4 acers to free range as well.

I just found this forum tonight,,,and once I found this thread, I was hooked and had to look through all the pages!! Wow!!! All of the pictures and ideas is so impressive!! We are building our coop/run this week/weekend and these posts give us so many more creative options to add into our plans! Thanks to all for sharing.

My husband built this run for me ... 4x4 at the base with 2x4 framing and hardware cloth over all. Offset section at one end will attach to playhouse coop if it ever quits raining!

Right now the ladies are spending their nights in an old dog house, but they enjoy the run.

Still need to work on that sagging bird netting and turn the shed into a coop, but at least they were able to move in.

We covered this with cheap netting from Lowes & used wire as support underneath the netting. We used landscape timbers as posts. We now have part of the right side of the run made into a section where we have "teenagers" in so they can get bigger, before they're incorporated into the rest of the flock. My hubby made a roof from the trees to the end of the run for shade. That's a neighbors hen in the pic that's adopted us LOL!

This is a second run we have. It's a used chainlink dog kennel with a shed behind it at the top left of the pic as a coop. This pic was taken in it's temporary stage, before we connected the shed/coop to the kennel. So, that's why you still see the nests & doghouse in this pic. We cut a hole in the chainlink & connected it to the shed/coop with a tunnel made out of wood. We used the same netting on the top of the run as the first pic above. In both runs we used wire around the bottom of each run.
