Does poorly in rain and our winds destroy the traps.
We're in Southern Ca Sierra's - high desert.
Planning to rearrange the roof this summer. Buying a second sun shade cover for over the run, running the 2 lengthwise down the run for nice long teepee. That should really help in the heat to vent up and out the open ends. Heat diffusion is something the traps are bad for a well.
Of course the gaps at the top are enclosed with wire against predators.

It occurs to me that I didn't share the original run that was attached to the Little Monitor Coop.

4' tall, half roofed, half open and extended under the coop.

Feed and water under the roofed section.

There was a perch in the run, which was well-used. I don't have a photo of it, but I often had a straw bale in there for them to sit on, hide behind, etc.

I'd never have a 4' run again. Cleaning it was backbreaking and retrieving an egg from under the coop required sending a child in with a hoe.

Light Brahma.

Marion (originally, Rosemary -- until a week after "the Red Boys" went off to freezer camp), was a lovely fellow. Mellow personality and a beautiful, deep crow.
