they all fit ok in the prefab, so whats the point if the playhouses fit less?

Whats the size of your prefab? They might fit but that doesn’t mean they have 2sq ft (not saying you are doing anything wrong) You might be able to go down to 1sq ft if they only sleep and lay in there and have a large run, but more space is better

they have a big run, and are let free when I'm home. They go in at 7pm to sleep and are let out at around 6:30am. they only sleep and lay eggs in there

Maybe measure it (minus the nesting boxes) then you can see how much bigger this are in comparison

Should be perfectly fine for bantams! It’s actually smaller than my coop for my polish babies (they are actually full sized)! And I have 10! 2 of them are regular sized girls (without crests) who are in there because they have crossbeak! Mine is 7+ ft tall and is part of the first house I showed off! I’ll see if I have a picture...

the first one if you give them 1sq feet could keep 12. Is there some way you could measure out and mark the size of the play house so you can actually see how big it is? Like putting some sticks down where the walls would be
