I used to have turkens and naked necks. The turkens were all mixed, some had cushion combs, I had some sexlink colored ones. For the naked necks I had red and white bantams, they were weak an didnt last long.
One thing I thought was funny was when I was judging a 4-H show last year and there was a 'trio' of red naked necks. it turned out to be 3 hens and all 3 had different leg color. One had blue, one had green, and one had white, none had yellow like the standard calls for.
I love seeing those mixed turken flocks, they produce so many cool colors like columbian.
And just so no one gets grumpy, I call mixed birds with a bare neck turkens and showable birds naked necks, it makes more sence to me to do it that way and eliminates some of the confusion.
That one turken is a frizzle. I bought these as chicks at an auction, and had NO idea exactly what was in the box, AND couldn't really understand what the auctioneer was saying. Not the smartest thing, I could've went home with a lion for all I knew (well, not really). I was thrilled to find out what I won when I was able to get a good look... They are very interesting birds!!! I'm sooo glad I bought these! And they are all healthy animals. I wish I knew who I bought them from, I would probably buy more.
