I want to add a veggie garden to my flower garden area. I'm thinking raised beds, but I'm open to any and all advice. I would love to see past pictures of your gardens.
I'll finally have a use for that chicken wire I bought before I read the BYC and realized that chicken wire doesn't keep animals out only in. Maybe it will be good enough to keep the chickens out of the garden!

I have all raised beds- there is no soil on top of this mountain. I used tomato stakes to hold up chicken wire around the beds- like a playpen. The short stuff works fine to keep the chickens out. If you get the really tall stuff it's hard to work and harvest.

I have a few pics- not sure if you can see the beds in the background. This is before my new coops were done.

Also- if you do raised beds- make sure you have enough room in between to at least pull a wagon, and so one bed that grows tall doesn't block the light (especially south) from another bed.

Start looking at your local home inprovement store for culled lumber:) I bought my untreated wood and will cost $3 a 4x6 large box. Can't wait for spring, why didn't anyone tell me about raised beds before!

One more bit of advice- don't make your beds too wide. Most of mine are 4 x 12. If you go over 4 feet wide- it can be hard to harvest & work the middle of the bed. And don't forget to rotate crops by plant family every year.

I'm making 3 boxes in the back yard one in the front, the front yard one will have edible flowers and herb:D Also tons of container gardening, I have 6 mounting long containers, 6 large rectangle ones and large pots, the feed store had them 80% off most were org. $12! going to try to hang a few plants . This year we are putting in a fence and a shed then 2 fruit trees:)
