We lost Flower this morning about 8:30. She had a broken leg. We isolated her as was recommended but she clearly was missing the girls we got her with. They cuddled with her last night when we put her back with them. She was alive at first check this morning but I had resolved to cull her today once I could tell the kids that she wouldn't make it. She didn't want to wait. Poor baby. At least she isn't hurting.

Finally a sunny day! 3.5 week old chicks first time outside.

Feather fluffing and sun bathing was constant. My light Brahma was adorable fluffing her feathers.

Silver Laced Wyandotte. Sun bathing and practice flights was all they cared about. Pretty entertaining chicks.

My white crested black polish was the first to venture out. They are hilarious.

Speckled Sussex cautious at first but enjoyed being outside the most. Very fast little chick.

I can't believe how fast they grow! These guys just turned 3 weeks- they've gotten so much more personable and hop out of the brooder when we open the door to come see us. We've started giving them tiny mealworms and they go nuts for them!
