Show off your bird

Here is my cassowary chick, Cassie. I took this one before she broke the camera.

She broke the camera? How?

I'm a photographer and I had this real good HQ camera, and I wanted to get a nice close up of Cassie for my wallpaper and all of a sudden I put it in front of her to take the shot and the the sec I after I took it she started to peck on it and then pushed it off the stilts and broke it. Now I have to replace it and that was my best camera. I learned a big lesson that day though.

She seems like quite a character! Sorry about the camera.

Yep, and it will get worse when she grows up. Cassowaries have long life spans in captivity, but I love her and I know in that camera-destroying bird's eyes that she has a love for me too, just a little different.

Get a long lens and photograph from several hundred yards. Then you can crop to your desired effect. Did you know some camera shops will rent out those $6,000 lens? I discovered this when I took my camera in for a digital tune-up.

Wow, I didn't know that, (even though I probably should) thanks theoldchick!

You're welcome! However, most of my photos on this forum are from a inexpensive point and shoot.
