Penguin went broody and wouldn't quit so I gave her a couple of chicks to raise. The BR is definitely a pullet but I am concerned about Puffin, our BA chick.
What do you all think?
pullet or cockerel?
8 1/2 weeks old.
Boy.

We have 3 BA's in our last group of chicks, they're a little over a week old now. They're really sweet. Here's a picture of one of them.

These were my 3 BA babies that I was SO hopeful to all be pullets that would be wonderful layers---

Now 20 weeks later, 2 of those 3 turned out to be ROOS! Ah well, at least I got1 BA pullet.

Here is mine, Onyx.

She's about 14 months old. We got her and two others to graft onto a broody hen, since her egg was rotten. The others died, alas, but she survived and is going strong. Her mother took care of her until just recently. Now she's on her own. She's really sweet. And talk about spoiled!

This is Lafonda she's 20 weeks old, hasn't started laying yet. Its kind of a bummer with a comb and wattles like that.

Wow! My Australorp is 24 weeks old and has comb and wattles HALF your girls size! I think yours will start soon!

I hope so, but she's not squatting or anything. She WAS the roosters favorite, no hanky panky or anything like that, they would just hang out together.
