Show off your dogs!!!!!!!!!!!! **VERY PIC HEAVY!!**

This is Jake. I found him in a parking lot in Miami. He was an abuse case and did not trust anyone but me (and eventually my DH). We just lost him in May and I miss him hiding behind me every time we had company. He was not my dog; I was his person.

This is Scout. DH found her in a pile of leaves by the road when she was ~6 weeks old. She was full of worms and it was the first night of the year that it was going below freezing. DH is her person.

This is Kimchi. She is a corgi/chow mix. This picture was after a hour of brushing. She is our spoiled brat who thinks the rest of the world exists to amuse her.

Hey, Chicken Boo, that pic of Kimchi and her "puppy" looks familiar! There are certain times of year when my collie is blowing coat that the pile of shed undercoat seems bigger than the dog. You've got to wonder how they can possibly not be naked after losing all that hair, but no... they go on to lose the same amount the next week.

Oh, I guess I should tell a little more about my collie Katie. She was a "sort of" rescue. She was originally sold as a show prospect. She has very good breeding and some of her litter mates went to the conformation ring, but that wasn't to be for Katie who ended up with some glaring faults. So the people who bought her didn't want her any more and turned her back in to the breeder at age 1 1/2. I don't get how people can do that! She wasn't terribly neglected, but didn't know her own name and had hardly ever been outside a dog run and so was spooked by new things. But she had such a lovely, friendly temperament I had to take her. Agility class was to give her self confidence and boy did it ever work! And now she is competing and having way more fun than if she were a show dog.

Beauty and brains... Lassie would be proud!

My Bluetick Coonhound, Belle. We found her mostly starved running down the road. She was scared of men and only weighed about 25 lbs. She has come a long way since then!

duck walk: Those are some of the HEALTHIEST looking dogs I've ever seen!

windtryst: That pic cracks me up! The look of guilt on her face is priceless.

How did I miss this thread before? I have really enjoyed this one guys. Dogs are just good for the soul aren't they. I can't imagine life without a dog...or two, or three...!

Much love to all you dog rescuers out there! You are angels on earth.

Here's my 2 girls, Dana--Chow mix, age 11, and Sierra--Pit bull, age 8 (also pictured, human girl, Ava, now age 28 months). They are starting to get up in years. It's been really hard on me to see them begin to struggle with arthritis. I don't know what I'd do without them.

Here is my boy: CanCh Altair's West Coast Swing. I imported him a month or two ago from Canada & he much prefers the weather here in Israel. We have our 2nd show next week & then he will be an Israeli/International champion too! He is my soul-mate & is really smart & the greatest mind reader! Yes, he is naturally like this, he is a Chinese Crested Hairless dog.
