Thank you! I love having them. Though they are not cuddly duckies they are beautiful and I love hearing their little chirps. If you have never seen a Mandarin male do a mating call you need to find a video it is so cute.

There is a link in my signature of them calling. And was the lawrence person possibly Darrel or the licktiegs?

Licktiegs, she was so nice and sweet. And I loved her place.

All of the ducks are beautiful!

Funny you said that. I was just searching for information on that yesterday. My daughter just turned 8 so she can join the local 4H group and wants to show her duck at the fair. I know nothing about it, so.. the research must continue!

I have no idea what even constitutes a "show worthy" duck.

I had been throwing around the idea, just for fun, until someone here on BYC informed me that MO state Fair only accepts a few breeds to compete.

None of the birds I wanted to show are accepted.

Yeah I think I'm the one who told you that. I just don't get why they dont have more breeds to choose from, especially in Missouri when our main thing is agriculture!

Yeah there's a lot of things that make your duck or any bird show quality, mine aren't really but I'm still taking them up there just for the heck of it :p

Actually you don't have to be in FFA or 4H. You can be in the open show which means adults can enter or kids who aren't in either orgainzation. But the dead line for the forms is Friday, so if you decide that you want to take them, you'll probably want to fax the forms there other than mailing them
