Some one stole your dog... that's low, but the same thing happened to my Father-In-Law.

Some people suck. I am glad you got your dog back.

It was a streak of luck. A couple had come by the farm to buy a puppy, and one of my kids spoke up and said we had to leave soon for an appointment. When we came back home, another puppy was gone too. A couple of weeks later, some one called saying that a friend had given them my number.

They came by and mentioned that their friend had bought 'two' of my puppies. Bingo! I called the sheriff and we went by their home and picked up the stolen puppy. The husband spent a short period of time in the county jail and then got out with a couple of years of probation.

I never invite prospective buyers to my home anymore. We usally meet at the local Wally World.

After reading on BYC how people have had animals stolen, if I ever sell animals Wally World it is... yikes. I am glad you got the pup back, my father-in law was not so lucky, the first time his dog was stolen (after he refused to sell it to a man who pulled his car over when he saw the dog in the front yard, claiming to be a breeder and shower of the said breed and wanting to know all about the dog) the dog escaped & showed up with beating marks on body & rope burns on all his legs (he had been clearly bound)... the second time the dog vanished from the yard never to be seen (gate locks cut). The sad thing is we know it is a breeder who stole and beat this dog, and used him as a stud dog to falsify AKC papers and improve his line, we just don't know the guys name. We figure after he got a few good pups he probably killed my father in law's dog.

On a happier note I am going to be getting birds... I think I will need bantam breeds though as the coop kit dh bought me is small. But I am so happy, I missed my peeps. But before I bring any birds home I am going to build the outside coop/run. Tomorrow I am getting the section of yard ready for the coop to be built in. Dh knows I have been missing my birds and some of my county's rules have changed so I can have a few birds. He is all tired out from hunting for feed stores today (he is fighting cancer but insisted we drive through three counties searching for chickens and chicken supplies until we found a coop that would work & be in budget)... we found one feed store in another county with a huge selection of breeds, so when I am ready for chicks I may trek back up the mountain to them.

After I get the coop up, then it is all the necessities and finding some bantams.
