New Rooster... My brother found this rooster sleeping in his friend's garage.... Nobody knows where it came from!! So I adopted him because I am Chicken Obsessed. His legs are a little short in my opinion. Green legs with a hint of yellow. Willow legs? He is not very tough yet, he ran for his life when exposed to another rooster. Doesnt know how to act around hens either, and is very unsure of himself... I think he was caged most of his life then someone let him go in the wilderness, till he found his way to a warm garage. Needless to say I think someone culled him and I think I will too.
dub him first & put him on a tether . He looks A.G.to me

I made a cool little toy for my chickens this weekend. I saw a post about a feed ball.. and I think I even re-posted here on this thread.

Basically a clear round bottle with holes drilled in it... when the chickens peck at it, it will release small portions of feed. Keeping them busy all day. I finally found a bottle that works well.. and they pecked at it until all the food was gone... took about half the day.

This is so neat!

LOL give them an ipad too.

Gorgeous birds.

If he ran culling him is exactly what he needs.
I was thinking the same thing...

But right now he is free range with one hen... He is still young, his spurs are still soft and small... And I think he was very sheltered. He hasn't successfully mounted his one hen yet and he doesnt pace the cages of the other roosters. He barely crows and when he does its not a vigorus as I would like it to be.

I am going to let him roam around free for a little longer and see if that builds his confidence and increases vigor. He has anohter month or two to prove himself worthy.
