Show Off Your Games!

Just hurricane sandy a couple years ago. It took me awhile to round up the peacock and Guineas. I don't know how you guys down there deal with that. I get frustrated when my chicken run gets all muddy, constantly throwing down fresh straw. Then again I spent most of this past winter digging my chickens out of the snow.

If I were to set up another cockyard and had the funds I would form up an area with2x6's like a house slab and fill it with pea gravel then put the pens on top of that. Spring is the worst here cause it's soo rainy like living in a rain forest just this year it had me wanting to sell out a few times. That's what got me out of gamefowl back in the day when the game was legal the rain. It started raining and I got called into work ( fire dept ) and by the time I got home about 36hrs later I lost about 150 birds total all different ages and was totally disgusted.

I can't even imagine that! I thought about using pea gravel too. Heck as it is I have to fix two gates and replace two of my small runs that are attached to the coops. I know if I could I would do a few things differently like making the gate to my back run big enough to fit my lawn tractor through. I have to trim the whole thing now. What a pain, and yes I'm an idiot for that one. Small steps, everything is expensive though.

I guess I can't hardly complain about much here. For everything I have to do you are doing a lot more and more often to keep things running smoothly. There has to be days where your just darn tired.
