I like your pens! I've wanted to do something like that here but my dogs would rip through chicken wire! What are they made out of and measurements? They look perfect for flight pens

They are 4'x3' and 5' tall... I didnt use chicken wire.. I use Cattle fencing. I bought two 50ft rolls, 4ft tall and 3 ft tall which I used for the sides. I didnt use any vertical posts, just wired the sides to eachother, which makes it strong enough to support a cap and roof. I built a base and cap out of 2'x4's and just stapled the fencing to them. I used red corragated roof screwed to the cap for shade... but I also bought cloth painters tarp (4'x15') to cover the top and sides, because the sun is brutal. The cloth is removable... I have two perches, one you see, the other is up high where the sleep at night. I made the gated opening out of cattle fencing too.

Thanks! That would help me see the gate and cap better! How does the tarp hold up to rain?

I havent had the tarps in the rain yet, but the wind kind of blows them around a bit, like big sails. I just wire the tarp to the base of the pen.

I hose off the tarps when its hot, and its keep them cooler, especially when a breeze blows through it. We have really dry heat out here, so they like to be hosed off.

Lol I don't think that would work.... My girl is a bit on the slower end of the pain response see saw... She once cat and looked at me for a minute before I realized that she was wearing a shock collar by the reciever! It was on full throttle and she was twitching away!
She is pushing 11-12 now and is in late stages of HW disease sadly... My other dog is my flock and yard dog! He is a gentle giant!
I have trained them to stay away from the pens but when I move them she gets a twinkle in her eye and turns into a dog gone ninja! She demolished 2 full nests and tore up my pens but they are fixed now and she has learned her lesson.... I think....
