I think if you either invest in the J hook clasps that you would use to put a rabbit cage together or plastic zipties.. .. Placed every other weld should hold up Purdy good...

I have had them for almost a year now and they havent sagged... It is 16 Guage galvanized wire with 2"x3" openings. I just wired up the corners really tight every 6 to 8 inches, and it creates a nice sturdy cage, even with cut-out openings for the gate and the heavy perch. It wobbles/rocks a bit if I were to shake it, but it will never fall.

I was thinking about vertical posts just to give it more rigidity and make them look a bit more 'official'. But they dont need it. My next ones I will probably use 1"x4" to frame the cap so its not so heavy up top.

I calculated everything back while I was making them and I think cost about $65-$75 each for the materials (without the tarps, which I bought this summer). But I bought 50ft rolls of fence which gave me enough to make 5 pens. I have material left over for two more.

that sounds good!!! keep up the good work (split those landscape timbers and see if you like them better ...... (they can be split two ways - i like it when they are split to kinda look like a 2X4 (the other way to split them they come out looking like a 3X3)

This little guy is going to be a nice looking bird. He's part of a cackle surprise, so I have no idea what he is supposed to be or what he came out of. Got a pretty good assortment and the blacks look especially nice. They have black straight combs that are turning red.

So I acquired a trio and Some chicks from a neighbor. The keeper has been incarcerated so I got his birds... He told me he had hatch... That's all I knew. This cockrel looks like a modern game to me!

The hens look like rumpies! I hope that's due to molt!

I like the way he looks, probably a yellow leg hatch, high station... Seems pretty tamed too. Any of my cockerels would be freaking out if I got that close for a picture.

I would imagine the hens just had the feather plucked out by other chickens. Do you have any pictures?

What did he get incarcerated for? Cockfighting?
