My problem was foxes I'm assuming they packed around the pen and would catch the bird when it went to a side and ripped their head off or ripped the 2x4 welded wire and took the whole bird leaving a feathered bloody hole in the wire BUT, after some night hunting and elec fence installation haven't had any problems since. And I did find a red tailed hawk wrapped up in the fencing fried so I guess it's working for them too

Yes sir! My hot wire will throw a blue arc out about a 1/4" to get what ever gets close. I was able to see a coyote get a bite of it a couple weeks ago because I have wireless motions by my pens, so I know when a critter gets close

Depending on the predator at hand I have either the .17hmr sporting the 6x24x40 illuminated recticle in the background or the game whisper with laser, light and 3x12x44 AO in the front
