Trimming a bird is easier to do or show than to try an explain it. Its one of those hands on type deals where you can read all you want but nothing beats the hands on experience.

She knows how to do it. I helped her with the comb on that bird. Regardless it’s best to leave it alone.

Who needs a clue when you have the internet? That bird is a leghorn. Their combs and wattles can get pretty large, especially in confinement on a rich diet. He looks fine to me too. He doesn't look like he has ever been in the cold...

Good thing they didn't go any deeper. That bird would have bled out if they nicked the jugular.

I can't remember who posted that on the old thread but man they were close to culling when they were trying to trim.
