I dont sometimes.. names arent important to me or my buyers... they want good quality fowl.

I agree and disagree with that because even without a name I want to know somewhat what it is. And a hatch is alot different family then a black
All gamefowl are crosses at some point...

Hatch from California may be 180 degrees different than a Hatch in the Carolinas.. or even from the guy down the street from me...because people put names on fowl based on what they look like (usually based on colors and comb type)

Havoc has blacks of all sorts.. different parents, comb types, feather colors, body shapes, weights etc etc.

And now SOHC has some... when he sells them what does he call them? And when that new buyer gets them, what do you think he will call them? (maybe warhorse, maybe miner blue, maybe mugs?) Nobody knows. Will he even remember all the different bloodlines that SOHC told him?

Yes I do. I almost exclusively breed pea comb to straight comb on purpose. That doesn’t change a hatch being what a hatch is expected to be.
What is a hatch supposed to be?
Some come straight comb, some come pea comb... some are even spangled. Some have yellow legs, others green, others blue.

The old hatch was solid grounder in style and for the American the newer style due to it being illegal here in the usa and legal in other countries has went toward more athletic type birds. Choose your birds for what you wish but everyone in it still will tell you gameness is not the key factor in other countries the type deal that last less than a minute or two. Give me a family that can do it all straight and never tuck tail, cross well and I'm happy, but they better not ever shy away.
