Big boys neck is feathered out now, just went back in with some hens

Looks like a hawk got one of my hatch pullets, and my leiper stag was nowhere to be found. After looking around for him awhile he thumped out of the coop and started crowing. He was holding a leg up and went back in the coop to roost. I took a look at him and he tore a nail off, maybe running off the hawk. I washed it and applied a dab of antibiotic ointment. Hopefully today goes ok and they stay to cover. I left the food in the coop so they wont be bunching around it.

Thanks. Some huge hawks have been cruising through this year, red shouldered maybe? I've already chased off a couple circling overhead. Winter is the only time I have trouble with them. A red tail got a little spangled stag last year, and I had a chicken hawk go after a group of layers while I was standing there, but they were already on alert and taking cover under the boat lean to.
