The hens I have are a pure glh, sport butcher, law grey, bennet grey, sweater, kelso, and two albanys. Ive also got a pullet and a stag that are free for now that are Phil Marsh butchers...Ive got My hands full but I love each and every one of them ^^ I also have about 26 yard mutts that are mixed with game and bantams that I got free last year. Oh and one more..Ive got an evil OEGB who thinks he is full game >.<

Yeah Im scared that I wont do something right... Also Ive heard so many horror stories and not so sure if Im ready to deal with all the stress. I started last year culling hard and dont know if I would be able to stomach culling because of some mistake I made with the bator

Hey Red, just a note from my attempts with the bator. Assuming we have the same kind. The first two batches I set didn't go well. I went and got a digital thermometer/hygrometer at radio shack with two temp readings for the last try. There was nearly a 4 degree difference inside the bator from under the heat element to the center. Also, the first two tries I kept the humidity at 55 for the first 18 days & up to 75 the last three. Only had one peep hatch & he died minutes after. This last time I ignored the hygrometer, and filled the center water trough for the first 18 then filled all three for the last three days. The hygrometer read in the 40's the first 18 days & never got up to 70 even during the hatch. But I hatched 10 out of 13 eggs( two of which were duds). A long time breeder told me to try that & it really worked.
