is a cornish considered a game bird? Do they tend to do well when living with other breeds? Are they good with kids? im considering getting either a cornish or a jersey giant to add to the flock, which would you suggest

real Cornish are gamebirds, hatchery birds are NOT. They do fine living with other breeds, they are fine with kids. hatchery Cornish look nothing like what you probably think a Cornish is like

what about the laced type of cornish that hatcheries sell, are they considered gamebirds or is it just the cornishX that the hatcheries sell that is not considered a gamebird? Why are hatchery cornish no a real game bird?

The breed of Cornish are gamebirds but the quality of Cornish that hatcheries sell is a disgrace to the Cornish breed, they do not represnt what they are supposed to look like at all, that is why I say that hatchery Cornish are not gamebirds nor should be considered the Cornish breed at all. If you want REAL Cornish you should contact a breeder.

Mine are plain as day to me at 4 weeks if not sooner. Usually I can tell the difference as soon as they start to get their chest feathers. All of my breeds are black breasted so the stags all have black chest feathers.
