I have heard nothing but good things on some hardcore Game Websites about the Rocky Top Stock, which prompted me to buy a dozen eggs for hatching. I really wanted some Greys and I've heard their stock is very good. I hatched out 11 and they are doing great, I did 6 Grey and 6 Kelso. Monica will actually send you extra eggs to help ensure that you get closer to a dozen, so I ended up getting 8 of each and it looks like I got more Greys than Kelso which is fine by me. If you want Games do yourself a favor and pay the money for good stock, be prepared to pay quite a bit for a Trio, at least $400-$500 dollars. The two farms I have consistently heard positive things about are Rocky Top and Blackwater. Red Fox Farms has some gorgeous birds but I have heard mixed opinions, more toward the negative and I can't confirm either side.
$250 for a dozen quality Game chicks is worth the money, you are getting 12 birds for breeding stock, compared to $300 for just one cock or stag.
There are some suggestions on here about full scale breeding programs, holding lots of birds, and heavy genetic selection. That is fine if you plan on a full scale operation for export, and breeding for wins in the pit. But if you are like me and simply raising Games for your own pleasure, it is impossible to test the true gameness of a bird without breaking laws. Birds from well known stock will be PLENTY game enough for the barnyard.
