Oh you were refering to the sumatras

They are yellow and black, the hens is my better bird I think the rooster has smaller size and less yellow on the bottom of the feet.
My hen is bigger, has stronger tail, and has better yellow foot markings.

Anyways they are really nothing to serious I am really after their chicks more than anything. The guy I got the from hatched 9 whites out of this line.

That's cool :-D how about the gypsy face on those white ones? I have noticed that is not dark as the black ones well that's the case in mines .
and I don't know if I should add fibro melanin to fix the facial appearance ?

Cool thanks ,

I'm trying to figure out what I have?
The breeder I got them from had bantam shamo and malay ?
I know I have shamo , but I have some with lower body carrage.
Thinking I might have hitting a pair of malays in the mix ?

Ok so in the past I have post some what similar post. Sorry just so dang confusing to me and maybe its not that hard at all.

Which hen would be correct or best to breed a spanish BB red cock with what would make a difference?

Question two the pic of the grey I poster recently pretty sure I have it narrow down to him being a black/grey. Which hen would I breed a black/grey cock with? or neither
I also have this black hen maybe I could bread a black/grey cock with.

I figured it's time to show off my Shamo hen and her current pullet. She's been babying this slow grower for months now, and is starting to go through molt.

At some point in time I'll have more Shamos from completely different lineage, but I sadly don't see that happening this year.

Illia I would stick to what you have and line breed.
Your shamo are beautiful by the way

wouldn't mind some in the near future if they look as good as yours. Good orientals are very hard to come by.
Where do they come from if you don't mind my asking ?

This is a pullet out of a red quill hen. As chick coloration not red quill but as she matures she is taking on a more red quill appearance. She will be bred to a male that looks red quill as an adult but hatched looking with the typical chipmunk pattern although lighter with narrower and wavier stripe down back. Hopefully, mating will throw 25% true red quill colored chicks, 50% like parents and 25% typical chipmunk that mature into black breasted red (Hatch looking) adults.

Not sure exactly your question. I'd say your calling the color patterns correctly. Except for maybe the grey comment. I dont see any sign of grey in that photo. I would say those two hens most likely would throw similar offspring. I would guess bred to a BBR colored rooster the Wheaton colored stags would be a little "redder" & the other hen slightly more orange in the stags. In the pic the black hen, looks to have a hint of red in her upper breast. Possibly a dark brown red family. If so, bred to a grey I would expect the stags breast to be a somewhat diluted black. Maybe even Smokey looking. With some red in their wings, back, & saddle. The other hens bred to a grey would probably create grey stags with brassy reddish backs. Possibly like a imperfect golden duckwing.
All just speculation of course. Tough to tell with games. Especially, if they may be mixed bloodlines. It takes years to get consistent, predictable offspring.
Hope this helps a little.
